WorldSkills is an international not-for-profit membership organisation comprising of 52 member countries/regions dedicated to raising the status and standards of vocational education and training worldwide. Its flagship programme is the biennial WorldSkills Competition: the next competition is being held in ExCeL London in October 2011.
CentrePoint Software Ltd. was approached by WorldSkills London 2011 in February 2009 to tender for an accounting system. Jonathan Hurford-Potter Administration and Finance Director for WorldSkills required a system which would be implemented quickly, produce the reports required by the management team, Government and audit committee, have a straight forward training schedule and have fixed ongoing support costs.
Richard Compton from CentrePoint Software worked with Jonathan on how Sage 50 Accounts and Sage Forecasting would manage their accounting and reporting requirements. An installation and training schedule was agreed and the system was live within the time frame specified, producing the
first month’s management accounts on 30th April 09.
Jonathan of WorldSkills 2011 says “By working with CentrePoint Software we were able to save 25% off the software and support costs of Sage and additionally we received pre-sales guidance on functionality which ensured we bought the right software and received the training we required.
Our successful and timely implementation has now persuaded our parent organisation, UK Skills, to consider whether a Sage product delivered by CentrePoint will better meet their ongoing business needs also.”
